Smriti Khanna Gives Out EXCLUSIVE Details Of Her Baby Girl's 40-Day Completion Ceremony
Smirti Khanna recently embraced motherhood and it's been 40 days already. The family celebrated the occasion with a small puja at home. We spoke to the actress about it to get more details
TV actress Smriti Khanna delivered a baby girl on April 15. She welcomed her little bundle of joy with husband Gautam Gupta, who immediately shared his happiness with fans on social media. However, the actress couldn't have a celebration due to the pandemic crisis.
In an exclusive conversation with us earlier, Smriti had shared how incomplete it seemed as her family wasn't able to meet the newborn. And now, Smriti has shared some celebration pictures on her Instagram account, this morning. We got in touch with her and spoke to her in detail about this ceremony.
Talking about the ritual exclusively with SpotboyE.com, Smriti said, "The ceremony took place this morning. It's a 40th day ceremony. After this, the mother and baby can officially go out of the house. But that won’t happen in our scenario as yet."
She added, "The ceremony was attended by only family members- Gautam’s cousin sister came and no one else. I stay with my in-laws, so yes, in a way it seemed complete."
Describing the whole ritual she said, "A little aarti of the mother and daughter was performed and then we stepped out of the chaukhat. Phir humari nazar utaari, so that the baby and the mother stay safe when they go out. It’s believed that the mother’s body takes 40 days to recover after delivery and the baby’s immunity also builds in 40 days. Hence, they can go out after this puja."
Well, we wish well for the mother and baby and hope things get back to normal soon and they can celebrate the occasion with all their loved ones.
